Born deep within the legendary Athanor — the mystical furnace of the ancient alchemists — you awaken as an ephemeral phantom serpent trapped in the void of Nigredo.
Cursed with continuous spiritual decay, your ectoplasm is constantly evaporating. To maintain your form, you must hunt the radiant Rubedo Souls. But every soul you harvest lengthens your body, twisting the 21x21 chamber into a labyrinth of your own making...
Except here, touching your tail isn't the end of your run!
🔮 The Revolutionary Mechanic: Surgical Amputation
Forget everything you know about traditional snake games. In Specter Snake, your body obeys the laws of spectral alchemy:
- Dense, Solid Head (100% Opacity): Your guiding focal point. Smacking into perimeter walls or crystallized obstacles is instant death.
- Translucent Ghost Tail (Fades down to 20% Opacity): As your body grows, trailing segments lose density and fade into ethereal violet mist.
- Surgical Amputation (Bite Your Own Tail!): Trapped in an impossible corner? Bite through your spectral tail! Instead of instant Game Over, your head slices through the ethereal ectoplasm, amputating the trapped segments and granting you a miraculous escape!
- Calculated Risk & Reward: Cutting faint segments near the tip of your tail incurs minimal ectoplasm damage and only drops your multiplier by
-1x. Cutting dense segments near your neck inflicts severe trauma and cuts your multiplier in half. Play it bold, play it smart!
